To reach Kvitlen in Norway, there are three trails available. I opted for the shortest one to begin with, but it proved to be the most challenging of the three. The trail was steep, and the streams were strong, making it difficult to cross without getting wet feet, especially during this time of the year.

At the beginning, a nearby sheep greeted me and kept its eyes fixed on me.

The beginning of the trail is already steep. To maintain your balance, you can use the chains installed in several places to hold onto while climbing to the top.

The trail has boardwalks on its wettest parts to prevent getting stuck in the mud. However, when I visited, the boardwalks provided only partial help due to the widespread wet ground. I frequently had to step off the trail and go around because the area was flooded.

Towards the end of the trail that leads to Kvitlen, there’s a rope bridge, and after that, there’s one last climb to the top where a cabin and a spot to pitch a tent awaits us.
Note! Staying in the cabin requires payment and advance reservation.
